Our Mission Statement
To bring the love of Jesus to orphans and disadvantaged children in Southern Zambia.
Our Values
We are Christians and are committed to the body of Christ. Our hearts, hands and voices are surrendered to Him for His purposes and glory.
We value children – their resilience and their hope. Children are a gift from God and every nation’s future.
We are committed to the poor – to the vulnerable and to the orphans. While we recognize the need for temporary institutional orphan care, we believe all children need the nurturing support of family and the experience of community in order to thrive. Therefore, we strive for strategies that ensure children remain in family care within their communities.
We value education – believing change starts with educated children, and that education can empower people to improve socioeconomic conditions for families, communities, countries, and future generations. We expect Zambian students to be accountable in demonstrating a strong work ethic, discipline in academic and spiritual development, and self-responsibility.
We are stewards – recognizing the financial resources at our disposal are not our own. They are a trust from God through donors, on behalf of the poor. We speak and act with integrity. We are transparent and factual in our communication with donors, agents, communities, governments and the public. We expect excellence, professional competence, and financial accountability.
We aim to utilize more sustainable, cost-effective, and developmentally appropriate alternatives.
We are stewards of God’s creation. We care for the earth and act in ways that will restore and protect the environment.
We value relationships and partnerships – desiring to develop and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, individuals, communities, organizations and governments. These relationships need to be based on trust, respect, transparency, and accountability.
We value community ownership – seeking to strengthen capacity within communities. We desire mutual participation in ministry.
We value independence and dignity – realizing the causes of poverty are complex. We seek to work alongside Zambians and to empower them to break the cycle of poverty through education and the instillation of hope.
Our Vision Statement
We envision Zambian children becoming Godly leaders who joyfully serve and live productive lives.
About Zambia Mission Fund Canada
Since 1999 we have been helping children in Kalomo, Zambia through our orphan care and student sponsorship programs. Because of the generosity of people in Canada, and the dedication of people in Zambia willing to care for children, we have been able to give many young lives hope for a brighter future. Our organization is small but effective and every dollar goes to Zambia.
